The smaller of the two Four Seasons properties in Maldives, Four Seasons Kuda Huraa is also the more intimate and laidback. The style here is that of a luxurious Maldivian village, and after its refurbishment a few years ago, it’s now looking superb. The beaches on the island are lovely and there are two gorgeous pools.
The charming rooms range from beach bungalows with quaint brick walls and high thatched roofs to glamorous water villas on the far side of the resort. The furnishings combine tropical luxury with modern design and are sleek and attractive, while all room categories now have private plunge pools. The highlight of the resort is its sublime food, with four superb restaurants, two bars serving small plates and both in-villa and private dining experiences. The exquisite Indian cuisine served at Baraabaru and the delicious clay-oven-baked pizzas at Reef Club should absolutely not be missed.
A 25-minute private speedboat ride from the airport and you’ll be sipping piña coladas on the beach while others are still awaiting their seaplane transfers to the outer atolls. Despite being so close to the capital you can live out your castaway fantasies with nothing but 50 shades of blue as far as the eye can see.
The resort is designed in the style of a Maldivian village with thatched roofs and dark woods and has a traditional, rustic feel though lacks the wow-factor of some of the archipelago’s more glamorous resorts.
