Ubud

Ubud is famous for its beautiful river valleys and rice terraced landscapes. The main hub is a small highland town, that’s a favourite alternative to Bali’s beaches. It’s more cultured and closer to the island’s classical artists’ villages. It’s a popular destination among yogis and wellbeing practitioners and has a certain hippie vibe. Fine-dining restaurants are found alongside casual cafés. There’s plenty of palatial sites, heritage museums and art galleries for you to explore. Nightlife here though, is very low-key.

Featured Restaurant: Kubu

Crafted mainly from bamboo, the open-air restaurant’s primary soundtrack is provided by the babbling Ayung River. Kubu Restaurant Bali takes its name from the huts local farmers have traditionally used for storing rice and pays tribute to these shelters with nine private dining cocoons, tailor-made for a romantic dinner. Booking ahead is advised for any of the restaurant’s 40 seats, and is an absolute must if you plan on dining in one of the sought-after cocoons

Gili Islands

Situated just off the coast of Lombok in Indonesia, the Gilis are made up of three small islands: Gili Air, Gili Meno, and Gili Trawangan. Over the years, these sleepy little islands have become a huge destination if you are looking for a quiet alternative to Bali with even better beaches and seafood, come to the Gilis. They are a wonderful destination to relax and soak up the sun.

Featured Spa: Lembah Spa

Lembah Spa at Viceroy Bali hangs over a valley in Ubud, offering spectacular views of Petanu River and surrounding rainforest. Many of its signature packages are suitable for couples – the Romantic Couples package consists of a full-body massage with essential oil, body scrub and mask, floral bath, a dip in a cold-water pool, and a Jacuzzi bath. You can even combine your spa experience with a 3-course meal (lunch or dinner at Cascades Restaurant) or activity (trekking, yoga, or cycling) at Lembah Spa

Nusa Dua

Nusa Dua was designed from the ground up to be an ‘all-inclusive’ type of tourist destination. It’s the most exclusive beachfront resort area on the island, overseen and administered by a state-owned company. Alongside the world-class resorts, you’ll find an upmarket shopping complex with well-maintained facilities and a luxurious 18-hole golf course. You can enjoy a beautiful stretch of white-golden sandy beaches and many other nearby highlights.
